High Tea Baby Shower

Singapore hasn't lost its roots and being a previous British colony the high tea is still a very popular activity.  The hotels here know how to throw a high tea with oodles of delicious goodies and endless tea or coffee of all flavors.  When we were planning our girlfriends baby shower we opted for the Fullerton Bay Hotel High Tea and it didn't disappoint.  The Fullerton Bay Hotel is located across from the Marina Bay and boasts some amazing views.  In prepping for the baby shower I scoured what felt like all of Singapore in search of wrapping paper.  Apparently the wrapping of gifts is not widely utilized here.  Oddly enough I ended up finding wrapping paper at a $2 store.  I felt like a kid let loose in a candy store.  I cannot believe I am just now finding this little gem that happens to be right at Vivo.  The store is massive the further I walked around and the more corners I took the more excited I got.  I not only got wrapping paper, but tape, these amazing little flamingo pens as baby shower game prizes, storage containers, a box to wrap up the baby gift, and some other odds and ends.  I didn't even attempt to find a baby shower card as I have had previous experience with trying to find cards and it's not worth all the hassle.
The baby shower took place on Saturday at 3:00 pm.  Shannon and I got there a bit early to lay out our baby shower games and Ashley made some cupcakes as favors.  Once all the ladies arrived we selected the type of tea or coffee and then they brought over the tray of goodies.  I am not much of a tea fan even thought they had the most amazing sounding flavors so I stuck with my typical latte.  Here is a look at all the deliciousness...
The top layer was my favorite.. chocolate cake thing and creme brûlée

Second layer was little sandwiches and the bottom layer was a mix
After indulging in the treats it was time for games.  We had a Celebrity Baby Name game and a Mad Lib game.  The winners got the Flamingo Pen so clearly everyone was being super competitive.

After the games Jasmine opened gifts and we discussed the pricing of baby items in Singapore compared to the US.  Ashley and Kyung have newborns and had calculated the cost of each diaper to be double what it is in the US.
