Little India Dinner Experience

A dinner in the mix of all the aromas and spices that make up Indian food wasn't exactly on my top of things to do, but when a girlfriend mentioned going to a restaurant that was one of her favs I figured it was worth a shot.  I immediately investigated the restaurant online to see what others were saying and also to check out the menu.  The restaurant got rave reviews on trip advisor and although I couldn't exactly find anything without curry or yoghurt sauce on the menu it was time to get adventurous.  Nate and I took some time before our 7 pm reservation to check out Little India.  The sights were as one would expect.. a laundry place out in the open right next to the food court, a store that was piled high with neatly organized rice bags, and of course fish head curry soup.  So it was time to document our journey with our fancy new camera

The restaurant was tiny inside, maybe a total of 8 tables and we were quite sardined in.  I inspected the menu and ended up going with Shannon's suggestion.  Shannon and Blake ordered Samosas as appetizers for all of us to try.  The Samosas are "crisp pastry pyramids stuffed with potatoes, peas and punjabi spices."  In my opinion the Somosas were not my favorite.  They looked delicious, but I wasn't a huge fan of the spices.   For dinner I had the "Cingri Maacher Malai Curry- signature dish of succulent prawns simmered in medium hot coconut cream spiked with cinnamon, cloves and cardamo."  It showed up quite impressively with coconut and all.  It was quite tasty, although a bit spicy.  Nate went with the "Punjabi Chicken Curry- special punjabi style chicken masala."  He is more of the Indian food expert after his multiple experiences in India and he thought the food was quite good.  We were also both surprised that neither of us ended up with belly troubles.  So all in all a good experience that maybe even will warrant a return trip.

Had to take a pic of my coconut dinner
