Parajump and North Face

A groupon popped up for the renovated Megazip on Sentosa resort and I was quick to snag it up.  The groupon didn't actually include the Megazip, but it did include the ClimbMax, Parajump, and North Face Challenge.   On Thursday we headed out to take advantage of the groupon, but when we got to the place they told us the ClimbMax was down for maintenance and we would have to come back another day.  So we opted to do the parajump and northface and take a voucher for the climb max.  We were weighed in and waited for our ride up to the top.  Our golf cart arrived and we were whisked away and harnessed up.  We arrived at the North Face Challenge.  A five story climbing wall.  Nate made it almost to the top, and I did about the same.  I got a little freaked out by the fact that there isn't actually someone belaying you it's all handled by this little machine thing that you get snapped into.  At the point when I got high enough up and realized I couldn't go any further I pushed off the wall and prayed my harness was done up right and the machine would catch me, a bit of a strange feeling.  I don't particularly like putting my life in the hands of someone else or a machine, but thankfully we made it out unscathed.

After our climb we headed up to the Parajump.  The Parajump is a 4 story jump somewhat similar to a bungee jump.  Standing on the edge of the platform and being told to just jump does make you get that uneasy feeling in your belly.  I guess they have had trouble with people not jumping and instead of relying on their instruction for you to jump on the count of three they also give you a push from behind.    The jump wasn't bad as you only free fall for a second before the cable catches and slowly brings you down.  We didn't get any pictures of us doing the jump so I took one of another girl.

I snagged a pic of the zip line.. looks fun!

After our climbing and jumping we unharnessed and hopped back into the golf cart to head back down.  I was shocked at how fast they whip the golf carts down these narrow trails where there were bikers and walkers.  Hopefully soon we will get to do the climbmax.

Here is a mix of our climbing, golf cart ride back, and random street performer we ran across on our bike ride back.  You can typically tell who put the video together by the music :)
